Fierce Healthcare: PocketHealth Makes It Easier for Patients to Understand Medical Imaging Reports

PocketHealth Report Reader featured in Fierce Healthcare

Digital Health Outlet Fierce Healthcare interviews co-founder and CEO Rishi Nayyar about PocketHealth’s new Report Reader, a feature that “empowers patients to better understand their own health records and to ease anxiety about complex terminology associated with their health.”

“With Report Reader, writes Fierce Healthcare author Anastassia Gliadkovskaya, “patients’ radiology reports underline terminology that patients can mouse over for definitions. Beyond medical terms, Report Reader also translates terms related to basic structures providers rely on to navigate reports, like the medical record number. In the future, the company said it may explore ways to make the interface even more interactive, such as embedding the vocabulary in the medical image itself.”

“The company’s technology is used by more than 200 providers in the U.S. and more than 550 across North America, reaching 600,000 patients. It adds roughly 25,000 new patients a month, it said. Most of its growth has been in the U.S., Nayyar said. The PocketHealth platform is currently home to more than 500 million images, according to the company, and adds about 38 million new medical images a month.
