Toronto, ON, May 25, 2021 — PocketHealth, developer of healthcare’s most unique electronic image sharing technology, announced today that Kingston Health Sciences Centre has joined the growing list of Canadian hospitals using PocketHealth to enable diagnostic images to be shared online with its patients and referring community.

Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) is southeastern Ontario’s largest acute-care academic hospital. Consisting of Hotel Dieu Hospital, Kingston General Hospital, the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario, as well as two research institutes, KHSC provides services for over 500,000 patients. Fully affiliated with Queen’s University, Kingston Health Sciences Centre is ranked as one of Canada’s top research hospitals.

PocketHealth is a diagnostic image sharing platform that gives healthcare providers the ability to share diagnostic images with patients, physicians and other healthcare organizations through an easy-to-use online experience. Supporting over 500 healthcare facilities ranging from imaging centres and community hospitals to multi-site health systems, PocketHealth creates an infrastructure that enables healthcare providers to send and receive imaging records without the use of networks or CDs.

The deployment of PocketHealth’s Patient Sharing functionality at Kingston will enable patients to share their images with referring physicians and healthcare facilities such as Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, a global leader in pediatric healthcare and acute care in eastern Ontario, Nunavut, northern Ontario and western Quebec.

“PocketHealth will give patients in our region unprecedented access to their diagnostic imaging records, enabling them to share with their referring healthcare providers,” said Karen Pearson, Director of Imaging at Kingston Health Sciences Centre. “PocketHealth’s unique patient approach to online record sharing is the first of its kind and we look forward to empowering our patients by giving them access to their own records.”

“We are proud to work with Kingston Health Sciences Centre, one of Canada’s leading healthcare institutions, to reinforce their digital healthcare strategy,” said Rishi Nayyar, Co-Founder and CEO of PocketHealth. “It is an honour to welcome them to the PocketHealth platform and we look forward to supporting their patients and physicians on this journey.”
