Urography

What is Urography? Definition, Types, and Benefits

Urography is a medical imaging technique that uses an X-ray, CT or MRI to take pictures of the urinary system, including the bladder, ureters and kidneys.

It is conducted to make sure the organs are working properly and to look for signs of disease. An intravenous pyelogram (IVP) is urography using traditional X-ray to look for blockages or abnormalities in the kidneys, ureters or bladder. Special contrast dye is used to help with the visualization.
