Venography is a medical imaging technique that takes pictures of veins using an x-ray machine.
A patient receives a contrast dye injected into the veins to help indicate strength of blood flow. It is commonly used to help detect blood clots, assess the functioning of deep vein valves, and identify the cause of leg pain or swelling.
