How it all began
In 2014, our Co-Founder and CTO, Harsh Nayyar, injured his ankle while playing tennis, requiring an MRI at a local imaging centre. When he was handed a CD-ROM of his imaging to give to his doctor, he was shocked to discover that this kind of manual workaround was still a common health care practice—a field at the forefront of technological advancements.
This experience highlighted a broader issue: that an enormous amount of staff time and resources is spent on clerical work behind the scenes just to keep patients moving through the system. From intake and scheduling to follow-ups and record management, health care teams spend hours on labour-intensive administrative tasks that pull them away from what matters most: patient care.
To tackle these challenges, Harsh and his brother Rishi, our CEO, co-founded PocketHealth—an agentic AI workflow automation platform transforming Canadian health system operations, used by over 900 hospitals and clinics. Powered by intelligent workflow orchestration, PocketHealth automates every non-clinical task from referral intake to scheduling to patient communications, so that teams can focus on care, not clicks.
